This home had to make the list. Featured in the Birmingham Home and Garden magazine, this lake house is filled with unique details. I have always wanted to design a bathroom with a sink in front of a window. It allows for plenty of light when getting dressed in the morning. The custom headboards in each room add unique characteristics to the design. Averaging about $470 a night it is a steal because you can sleep 10 people. The kids will love the bunk room accessed by the ladder. This home is perfectly located within a gated, private development with access to the hilltop community pool and clubhouse.

As soon as I saw this Airbnb, I wanted to come stay. It is perfect for a couple reconnecting. The best part is there is no television or Wi-Fi. Yes, you read that correctly. The whole point of this Airbnb is to give you and your significant other a romantic weekend. It is totally isolated except for the drive-in. No pets or kids are allowed. The tree house sits 15 feet from the ground in an eclectic bohemian style. The bathtub in the bedroom looks so romantic. Who else wants to stay here?

The Treehouse: Coosa County, Alabama





















The Coosa County Treehouse overlooking the lake is such an unusual home. The views from this cabin are stunning. The kids would love the outdoor swings and the playroom upstairs. With plenty of space to spread out and relax, this will surely be a win for everyone. I would enjoy watching a movie with the kids outside on the porch swing. This treehouse is at the top of my list of places to take my family.

Lux Beachfront: Dauphin Island, Alabama















Alabama is not known as a beach destination, which surprises me sometimes. I think it is one of our best-kept secrets. The beaches have white sand and are not packed with lots of people. If you want to be more isolated, Dauphin Island is the place to visit. This beach house is right on the beach and can sleep up to 10 people. The Lux beach house is filled with lots of style.
