This past weekend I visited the High Point Market in North Carolina, to see the new spring and summer trends for 2019. Let me tell you the tides have changed! The neutral styles are out the door and vibrant colors are all the rage. Everywhere I looked showrooms were filled with bold colorful designs.
Banana leaf was throughout market. The showrooms used banana leaves in ceramic vases, on fun wallpaper, and in artwork. This next image was taken in the Thibaut Fine Furnishings Showroom.
The design trend is to keep your large items neutral and bring in the color with your chairs, pillows, curtains, and decor. Two tone designs were the way to go this season. Vibrant designed pillows were a must buy item in the Suites at Marketplace.
Now if these bold colors are a little too much for your style, don’t worry! The medium blues were still going strong. I would definitely say that medium blue was the official color of market.
Rattan accents are having a strong comeback. This material gives a light airy texture. Many of the showrooms had dining chairs or accent tables with this material.
Everywhere I looked wallpaper was to be seen. The designs was large prints wallpaper with two tone colors. The style was to layer bold fabrics and wallpaper to give rooms eye catching designs.
Gold and marble is still going strong. This lighting display at Regina Andrews had some amazing products that I can’t wait to get in!
Overall I would say I love the fresh new designs that have appeared at market. It is refreshing to see something different from the greys of yesterday. It will be interesting to see if these bold new designs catch on with customers.
